Career & Resume' Help
Please know that you should create your resume to fit the job for which you are applying. This means every time you apply for a job, you should tweak aspects of your resume to fit that specific job’s qualifications. You are not fabricating information, simply highlighting information that a hiring manager might find desirable.
If you have “References,” please include name, contact information, and their title. If you don’t have “References,” please don’t put anything at all (ie. NO “References Available Upon Request”). Please keep your resume professional and limited to one page.
Please look at Purdue-OWL Writing Lab’s Resume Resources. The first link is general information. The second link takes you to sample resumes that cover a variety of purposes. Both links have additional links to the left that you can navigate through. If you haven’t had a “real job” yet, you can still create a fantastic resume but it might look different than someone who has a job. Look at the Skills or Functional Sample Resumes for some ideas.
